Re: Seacraft 1957 Outboard

Thanks guys, Looks like I'll have to make room up on the landcruiser roof racks for the little hydro to grt wet at Narrandera this year? I've never set foot in one of these boats before so we may need to find a test pilot..

Re: Seacraft 1957 Outboard

Hey All, Went and picked myself up a great 1966 Mercury 50Hp 4 cylinder 2 stroke in original condition for the Little Seacraft I'm restoring. It's in good condition for its age and fits the application just right. Also included in the deal was this old timber hydro "Huckleberry". I'm told ...

Re: Seacraft 1957 Outboard

Hey Shifty... Thanks for the encouragement, it would be interesting to find out if in fact it is one of Charlie Tull's first boats, it would also be an honour for me as well. I've suspected for a while now that it may well be a few years older than 1957 that i have in the documentation i so far hold...

Re: Seacraft 1957 Outboard

Hey, It's still a way off hitting the water yet, but I'm sure going to give it plenty of water time if all goes well, I wasn't too sure the SSBOC crew would welcome a pint sized outboard ??
But I would love to take it along to one of their days.
Cheers

Re: Seacraft 1957 Outboard

Hey thanks Dave, Jeff Tull tells me that the biggest outboard you could get from local dealers in 1957/58 was 35h.p. I love the old Mercury outboards myself if only cause they look extra cool. I'd love to fit a Mercury 58 model, i think it was a mark 75 red cowl with white trunk, think i'm dreaming ...

Re: Everingham clinker ply Dodge 6 cyl offers over $4000

Hey All, Looking at the photos posted so far, I don't think it's a BOTTERILL,but I'd be more than happy if I'm wrong... The trailer is definitily not an original Botterill built, they were nearly all made from standard steel water pipe round tube. The Dodge motors were real common in the Botterill b...
