Re: Timber machining

Not for me, folks.
Someone else had planks machined for a previous project and apparently it worked pretty well. The place that did it is no longer, but he'd heard of the other name (or similar), hence the post.

Jeff
I think it's something to do with these new fangled computers hooked up to some newer and even more fangled machinery where they copy the sample you provide and spit out an exact copy.

Timber machining

Does anyone know of a timber machinist (or similar) in Sunshine or maybe Footscray that has a name like "Steve Pullman"?

If not, can anyone recommend somewhere or someone in Victoria or southern NSW to have some planks machined to shape?

Re: 1960 seacraft clinker in geelong

I think Cool Runnings was originally owned by a brother and sister in Melbourne who had had it for many years before having it restored and then putting it up for sale. I first saw the boat in Melbourne in 2005. The new owner fell in love with it when he saw it and went and bought it. He never used ...

Thanks for the pics - great stuff. Good to see the water level up as well. Victoria is obviously letting too much through!

Re: stumbled across this

Brian I saw this one some time back. A really original Botterill runabout, but left out a bit too long. Interestingly, the worst damage on the boat is on the planks near the transom where the cows had rubbed against them while scratching themselves. There is some video there as well showing the Dodg...

G'day Marz
Yes, we were asked, but only for two or three this year. Being away overseas, I got onto it a bit late and again, it was a bit of a struggle to get boats there. I have just emailed the organisers that unfortunately we won't have any boats there this year.

Re: Gippsland Wet Together

Sorry Brian. You're not getting much of a run! We'll get there eventually.

Paul, it seems to have lost momentum as well. We will have to ramp it up again.
