Thanks for your comments , the boat has been sitting for about 25 years the date the battery was put in was 1983 so it must have been out of the water since 1990 . The motor had a reco but i could only turn it 1/4 turn so i resisted the temptation to to to try the starter and pulled the heads off . ...

I am after a set of overhead extractors for Rascala must be in good condition . I have turned 6.5 on the life tako today and i won't be able to go any faster but i can make a lot more noise .

I have been going with RACV boat ins .I have found them very reasonable with down time option and they have not required a boat condition report .
