They dont explain how they come to that figure, from the sound of it the guys who built the motor are professional engine builders. Thanks Neil, the one that came with the boat is about 11". The boat was running a 318 then. Have no idea what the pitch is but i'm intending to get the prop checked out before i use it. There's a guy in Werribee who did a stainless one for my plastic boat and he repitched it from p16 to p17 as ...

Prop size and pitch
Hi Guys, looking for some info into what pitch and size prop i should run on my boat. It's 16 ft bondwood running a near as stock 186, shaft angle is 14 degree. The hull is a double chine design (similar to Brian Bauch's) The prop shaft is 1" but don't think that will make much difference.

Hi Brian, what angle is the skeg on your boat, mines running 14 degree. After reading the posts on this thread i'm to curious to know what other boats like ours are running.
