Alan is correct. The strength of a roller rocker as opposed to a standard rocker is significant to say the least. So I guess overall its about handling the stresses at higher revs and spring loads and reduced wear and friction.

Apparently heat treated 630 stainless is pretty good stuff, supposedly right up there with K-500 monel.

Blue Max has been recovered and the damage to the boat is minimal. It could be repaired quite easily apparently.
