S/S nails
One of our new members has asked a question about boat building nails. The design calls for bronze coated ribbed nails, is there any reason these can't be substituted with ribbed stainless steel nails? The bronze nails are apparently hard to get unless someone can suggest a supplier

Re: Geelong Ski Club 60th birthday
We had a steady stream of people during the day. Ken met the original owner of Tora Tora so they had a great conversation while i was talking to a Seacraft owner who asked if i knew this bloke in Yarrawonga who had a heap of old wooden boats (John Sullivan) So it was an interesting day all in all!

Ken and I were treated very well...fed, watered and given gifts for bringing our boats to help them celebrate....we also both won prizes in the raffle. Big thanks to Luke Bennett ...

Re: Boat insurance
Well, i got my renewal papers today and as expected there are problems. A sub clause on page three requires the boat to be surveyed when this insurance period ends. I spoke to Sandi at A B Phillips and she gave me some contacts to talk to, at least one is tied up with the Seacraft club....the point ...

Re: Boat insurance
The fear i have when i see these issues come up is that for a boat like Pagan it will never pass any type of survey, no matter how lenient they are. I'm probably not the only one in that position. And while i can see their point i refuse to modify the boat to meet whatever qualifications they requir...
