Thanks for the offer Darren but i think it may have a crack in the cylinder wall ,It seems strange that when Nick first had the boat it had a crack in a cylinder which makes me think that the exhaust setup may let some water up and the thing has had a hydraulic effect ,with the head gasket blown out...

Allan i think the timing marks will be spot on ,the motor is very well built , you just cannot control what people do to it when it leaves your workshop .
Some people think turning the disy will fix all problems.

Darren I would think the damage was done well before the weekend . It looks like something has got into the cylinder .

Looks can be deceiving after a short stint on the water it now requires a new head gasket and two new pistons .
