We are all supposed to learn from History and I am sure Dave is a good learner. Hull shape was wrong "back in the day" and nothing has changed to make anyone want to repeat history today.

Ray, while it may be very frustrating at the moment you appear to have been lucky enough to obtain an unmolested example from the late 1950/60 period. Being tuned and developed as they were sometimes it may be confusing as to why it is set up in such a manner. Try to seek out people with experience ...

Ray, Thommo mentions a Magneto , if you do have one they can and do loose spark ability and need servicing to fix. There are Auto Electrical shops that do this still.

RAY, Once the jet size is set and I believe you still have the original fitted mixture adjustment is done by moving the needles up or down.This adjusts the flow through the range and creates a constant change. They simply have a groove and clip. The "fuel stand off" is normal for high lift...
