Re: Aussie Belle Isle
Hi all,
Has been a long time since I last posted, as it happens I kept the boat and have now nearly completed the build.
She has been in the water for testing and runs great!
I have the seats to finish off and install the windscreen.

Re: Aussie Belle Isle
Hi all, I know this isn't the right section but thought it might be easier as people can look at the entire tread. I am thinking about selling my 23ft Belle Isle, I am away most of the time and I haven't been able to find the money nor the time to continue with the build. Boat is a 23 foot Belle Isl...

Re: Aussie Belle Isle
Hi,
Bit of an update.
Have completed the install of the edge trim around the seating.
Couple of photos show a bit of bling on the top deck as I am trying to figure out final positioning so I can drill the holes.

Re: Aussie Belle Isle
Hi all, Not alot of progress but still ticking along. I have been working on the edge trim (Coving?) around the cockpit edges. I made a jig up for my trimmer to cut the recess into the corner pieces and made up all the straights bits. Jig worked really well and made them all uniform. Have been gluin...

Re: Aussie Belle Isle
Hi, Got some time over the long weekend to fit and glue the filler strip to the top edge of transom. Timber was a PITA i had to split it down the middle to get it to bend how i wanted, glad that the joints turned out quite neat. Now for final sand and staining of the cover board and king plank. Re: Aussie Belle Isle
Hi, I now have the stain sorted out...i tried a water based Cabbott's stain in the walnut and it is perfect...stain gives a lot more depth to the timber rather than a painted on look from the Minwax.. I have routed out the rear top corner of the transom and cut out the filler strip which i wrapped i...

Re: Aussie Belle Isle
Hi, Had a play with some stain colors on the weekend. The stain is Minwax water based stain, i have slapped some on at the back of boat to have a look. I have used the mahogany (Too red for my liking) and the walnut on the cover boards looks dark at first but under the lights at night it looks light...
