Re: Running Temp? / Grey Motor
Thanks for all the great info guys, much appreciated 8-) I will change to a rubber impeller pump. I have also just read the Hollow Log Vol4 Issue1 Jan 04 It has an excellent article called "Hotting up the Holden for Marine Use" It shows using the three welsh plugs on the block as water inl...

Re: Running Temp? / Grey Motor

Dave D has been running around with this setup when it was his boat, It works, I assume its been good for him. I doubt If I could build up a dangerous pressure ...

(making it not so much postive displacement) Or does a rubber impeller running pump running too slowl...

Re: Running Temp? / Grey Motor
Ok, Thanks so far guys 8-) I should let you know more about my set up I have, and what I plan to do. The motor does not have a thermostat, or housing to run one. The pump, is a gear pump. http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t94/fboldn/MySkiff/100_3663.jpg And I plan to use a dry manifold with exhaust...

Running Temp? / Grey Motor
Hi Guys
I am researching for the right Temp Gauge.
What temperture (roughly) does a grey motor run at in a boat?
In a car you have a sealed pressurised radiator which raises the boiling point.
In a boat it has a constant supply of cold water.
Cheers
