Re: Thunda Babe
Thanks Bob. It's an exciting step finally after a lot of work and time. Im really looking forward to eventually turning the key but there's still a bit to go. I'm going to rework the lube system feed to the rockers so it's better regulated across both shafts.

Re: Catalina
Well before my time Greg but I did remember that I had a photo somewhere. It looks to be similar if not the same place as yours above. I don't have any details on it other than I found his pic at the Paynesville Maritime Museum. The second pic is a maybe. 138537375_1886098248212568_70620847813171350...

Re: Thunda Babe
I didn't know that the grey was such a low hp engine. My stock FF engine put out 100 hp from 1600 CC. Guess time & technology changes. I guess it would seem that way. I've never been a fan of using hp figures to describe an output of an engine without including it's torque curve. As I read some...

Re: Thunda Babe
75Hp is the standard figure Bob. 1Hp per cube in a grey is a fair bit more than warm. That's nearly a 100% increase.

Re: Thunda Babe
Craig, I had a happy tacho like that once! Ah yes, the happy tacho. I spoke to one previous owner who stated he used to pull 8500 rpm with the grey in this boat. I nearly spat my coffee all over my laptop. If he only new what a grey would really do at those revs. The boat would have looked li...

Re: Thunda Babe
Time to get things ready for the crossflow head. After pulling the current one off I'm pretty confident I'll get a power gain. I feel pretty lucky to have got the current engine to 4500 rpm after seeing the internals. Standard valves, chambers, and pistons. 206616872_976228393163638_2264300177767271...
