Re: SERIOUSLY ????
This "thing" has done the rounds on ebay a few time. Each time it fails to get a bid.......funny that!
No wonder its only been in the water a few times, it looks way to top heavy and throw up the mast and disaster looks imminent.

Re: Resealing timber hull
Hi Glenn, I have done just what Jon has done using Sikaflex and Feast Watson varnish. I used an angle grinder to form the V or U shape and most importantly, taped where i wanted to sikaflex, i used the Sikaflex primer before laying down a bead. In addition i used a soft rubber tool so to get a smoot...

Re: Boat and Trailer weights
No wonder the boys complained about the weight. These were taken in the dark, while raining, not 100% level ground with el cheapo scales and boat bow down. Bow 100kg Port stern 75 kg Starboard stern 80kg Total 255kg If the boat was 100% level i would have expected the numbers to be more even but thi...

Re: Boat and Trailer weights
when you have the boat upside down, get three blocks all the same height as some bathroom scales and put one under each corner. Then swap the scales one at a time for one of the blocks and record the reading, add all three readings together and that's the total Thanks Alan, As of last night the boa...

Boat and Trailer weights
Howdy all, My boat resto is taking its time but slow progress is being made. Last night, with a group of friends, we got the boat (hull only) off the trailer so that the trailer can have some work done to it. The 4 of us struggled with the hull due to its weight. Which has posed the question...How m...

I also found this place in the USA that sells 3M 5200
http://www.jamestowndistributors.com/us ... ve+Sealant

Re: Clinker cracked plank repair
Hi, A mate of mine (used to build plastic boats for a living) suggested drilling a hole at the end of the split in the timber. This rounds the end of the split and supposidly reduces the chance of the split "growing" in length. The hot dry summer we have had in adelaide and the lack of pro...

Re: Stripping Paint
"Soda blasting gear isnt that expensive to buy" I bought the gear and the soda (not cheap) and managed to spray it all around the inside of my shed until it looked like Christmas on the north pole. Next attempt was outside where i managed to kill all the grass and p*ss the neighbours off w...
