Re: trying to identify skiff
Hi All, To answer the question as to why the ply is on the outside on the top plank is to stop the plank from splitting. Because of the weight of the deck with boat movement in rough water. It was done on all boats built at Taren Pt from 1961c to 1970c Ron.

Re: trying to identify skiff
Hi ALL, All big skiffs such as Invader Rebound Fox etc had 8 planks a side . All skiffs had the inverted plank no 4 . There was only 1 transom pattern, so ALL skiffs are the same . I hope this helps Ron .

Re: trying to identify skiff
Hi Nathan, Good to see the images of the boat. By the "deck" layout it would appear to have been changed to runabout. Do you intend to return it to a skiff ?. Ron.

Re: trying to identify skiff
Hi retroboat, From new ( Lewis Bros ) never did any skiffs with a painted deck. Could you show a side on view , side on , bow on images, that will be enough to tell if its a Lewis. Ron ( Lewisinfo ).

Because all Lewis boats were built to order all the bow caps were made on each boat. A flat gunmetal casting was used cut bent brazed and chromed Ron.
