Re: Dodge powered clinker

Congratulations Gavin, The flathead dodge 6 (Dodge Kew) was a common motor in these old boats, long stroke with high torque output. My father told me there were 2 options when he built his boat and these were the Dodge Kew (around 250 to 265ci) and Ford Flathead 239ci. Have a mate with around 9 of t...

Re: What makes a wooden classic

having some mechanical ability would also be important weather it's inboard, outboard or other. Most of these boats have old running gear and no matter how good a condition they are in, will need ongoing maintenance which can be a challenge with parts etc.

Re: Boat ajustments

Fitted another rudder and a bigger water pump and took it out for a test. I think the temp gauge is not reading the true temp as the discharge copper pipe was all most abel to be touched by my hand when running. Steering is nice and light now and great to drive. Ross Ross, do you have some pictures...

Re: Spotto in Mt Gambier

do the words fuel economy apply to ski boats :?: Fuel economy in relation to performance, yes!! When I fitted the blower to my boat there were 2 issues that would have seen it removed, these being fuel economy and noise. The blower is still there, both of the issues turned out to be non-issues with...
