Re: Worth saving?

I've had success using the heat gun and putty knife method but it can be really slow going.
Some sections would tear off in long strips whereas other sections needed to be worked inch by inch.
I found that dynel cloth or woven mat fibreglass is much easier to lift than chopped strand mat.

Re: 21/2" exhaust flanges

Hi,

If you have no luck I could sell this used pair. They are 2 1/8" inner diameter and 2 1/2" outer diameter.

Cheers,
Dave

Re: Timber treatment

Wattyl Industrial is the brand I use, but mainly because that's what my local marina stocked. It's mixed at a 50/50 ratio. I've been happy with it but do avoid the fumes! Be sure to get compatible thinners with whatever product too. A shipwright taught me to mix the two parts as instructed, and then...

Re: Timber treatment

I've used it for fencing and odd jobs around the yard, but never on a boat. The can of copper naphthenate I have is oil-based too so it wouldn't be compatible with epoxy or glue. I tend to see it more as a termite barrier rather than a treatment for rot. But happy to stand corrected on that. 2 pac e...

Re: Anyone recognise this?

I don't know the history of the specific boat but it's a Healy hydro.

The deck looks ply but the rest should be fibreglass. With that in mind, it could possibly be salvageable if someone were really keen

Re: Still for sale

I really like the look of this boat and would love to have it. A few months back I contacted a dozen car/boat transporters trying to see what it would cost to get to QLD... not one reply from any of them... great customer service hey..... I'd be happy with a simple "we're not interested" r...
