Thank you for the feedback Darren. I've pursued several of the project boats too, but unfortunately their trailers were wider than 1900mm so far.

Hi Bob. Thank you for the feedback. I'll be mainly boating in the fresh water of Lake Narracan and the protected sea water around the Inverloch pier...so hopefully not too much debris in the water. I'm mainly concerned about using a plastic marine strainer and perhaps its perceived lack of strength....

I'm nearing completion of the 16' Crackerbox I've been building for the past 5 years and am looking for a good used inboard trailer that can carry a minimum of 550kg and is no wider than 1900mm (mudguards edge to edge) - the width is important as anything wider won't fit through the rear of my garag...

I'm running a heat exchanger cooled with raw water for the rebuilt Holden 304 V8 in my new Crackerbox build.

I'd welcome any thoughts please on whether or not I need to run an inline raw water strainer on the 3/4" plumbing of the raw water inlet scoop.

I'll stick with the Bote Cote.

The inside of my new wooden hull is finished with several coats of clear epoxy (Bote Cote)...and the joinery itself looks quite neat. I've noticed that some of the US builders put a coat of grey bilge paint over that. Is it worth doing the entire hull or just under the engine...or not at all? I'd we...
