Mudlark was purchased about 12 years ago after Greg Carr found it in
a helicopter hangar at Essendon Airport. It has had countless hours
spent on restoring it back to as original condition as possible.
Mudlark was originally built for Lundberg and
Son as a display boat for the performance parts they made for sidevalve Ford V8's.
The hull is timber and the deck is Fijian mahogany with hoop pine
trim, with all the original fittings on the deck.
The seats have been reupholstered in the original pleating of that
era.
The motor is a sidevalve Ford V8, which has been rebuilt.
I have built the trailer as the original was timber and in
unrestorable condition. It comes with a VIN number, but I haven't
registered it.
I consider this a high standard restoration and am only selling it to
make room for my next project.
I know I will never get back what I have spent on it, but
I would
consider offers of around $15,000 and possibly taking another boat in
need of restoration as part payment.
