FOX

 

FOX underwent restoration with Colin Moyle from June to October 2001in northern NSW. The boat,
owned by Jimmy Smith, was in a sad state when found and as the photos below show, has had
an extensive amount of timber replaced.


Details of FOX are:

Built in September 1965 by the Lewis Brothers for their personal use.
After a short time with the brothers, it was sold to the Elder family of Sydney.
It was then sold to Jim Smith when only 12 months old. Jim has owned the boat ever since.

Construction:

Clinker 1/2" marine plywood planks over steam bent spotted gum ribs
Speed: 65mph over a measured mile, Length: 19'

350 ci Chev V8
